Jack Daniels Golf Tour
On a windy day at Belmont Hills during the Jack Daniels Tour, the scoring was always going to be difficult, but after 12 holes Paul Adams was 2 under par, followed closely by Dwayne Pearman and Scott Roy who were both at 1 under par, but the wind took its toll on the last 6 holes which meant whoever could make the least mistakes would win, and it was Pearman and Twillton Smith that hung on to take 1st place.
Smith is a newly senior professional and took the advantage of playing from the forward tees to get his maiden win of the season.
Daniel Augustus failed to make his presence felt after losing a ball on his first shot of the day, it never really came together for him. Belmont does not suit Augustus as his power was not an advantage, it will be interesting to see him play the longer courses on the island.

Day 1 - Pompano Couple’s Round Up
The 13th Annual Pompano Couple’s Golf Classic 2010 Tournament kicked off at the newly renovated Port Royal Golf Club in ideal Grand Slam Conditions. The format today was a 2 ball scramble. A smaller field than normal, ten couples have arrived for this month’s event and will enjoy golf at Port Royal, Riddell’s Bay and Belmont Hills .
TEAM NET DIVISION
Margaret and Bill Breedlove,from Athens TX, certainly felt the “Love” today as they posted the day’s best net round in testy condition and lead the rest of the field by a slim 3 shots after recording a 4 - over par 75. Linda and Craig Van Horn out of Ocean Isle Beach, NC sit in 2nd place after finishing their round shooting a 7 - over par 78. The couples are closely bunched together making for an exciting tournament this week.
TEAM GROSS DIVISION
The Breedlove’s, also leads the Gross Division after posting a 9 - over par 89 with the Van Horn’s 2 shots back on 11 under after posting an 82. Nancy and Glenn Guillemette however are on 14 over and are in contention for the gross prize as the couples cannot win in both divisions.
