The 13th Annual Pompano Couple’s Classic is set to get underway on Monday with action beginning at the Port Royal Golf Course.
Round One will see a Two Person Scramble Format. Low handicap – 35% & High Handicap 15% - Team will receive 50% of Combined Handicap. Both Players will play from their respective tees. They will choose the better of the two drives and both hit their next shot from that spot. This will continue until the ball is holed. Only one score per hole is recorded.
Round Two will be a Modified Scramble Best Ball Format. Men receive 90% and Women receive 95% of adjusted handicap. If a difference of more than 8 shots is between the two players after adjustment, an additional 10% will be deducted. Both Players will play from their respective tees. They will choose the better of the two drives and then play a team best ball in from there. Couples must use the Ladies drives at least twice per nine holes.
Round Three is the Pinehurst Mixed Foursomes. It includes a Low Handicap - 60% & High Handicap 40% of adjusted handicap. Handicaps will then be combined to give team handicap: Partners both drive from each tee, and then plays a second shot with the other’s ball. After the second shots, a choice is made regarding the ball with which the hole will be completed, alternate shots being continued until the ball is holed.
The Final Round will see a Two Person Best Ball Format: Men receive 90% and Women receive 95% of adjusted handicap. If a difference of more than 8 shots is between the two players after adjustment, an additional 10% will be deducted. Both players will play their own ball for 18 holes. The best Net score for the team will be recorded for the team, however the team must show the gross score of the player whose score was chosen. Any player out of the hole can pick up.
