Michael Sims made the cut following his second round 4-under Par 68 and is nowT30th eight strokes off the leader Robert Gates. Sims started the day knowing the Cut was -2, when he walked off the course he had no doubt that he will be playing over the weekend in the Michael Hill New Zealand Open.
Sims finished the round shooting five Birdies, twelve Pars and one Bogey.
Sims started out on the front nine and got off to a dream start when he shot a Birdie on the Par 5 1st Hole, but a Bogey on the Par 4 5th saw him fall back to even par. A Birdie on the Par 5 ninth hole saw Sims make the turn at -1. Sims who struggled on the back nine in his first round shot three Birdies to finish -4.
