Due to a deep low pressure center associated with this morning's cold front that approached near to Bermuda’s north/northeast and was forecasted o move southeastard, bringing gales as it passes, Bermuda Golf Association (BGA) President Terry West announced to the golfers participating in the Bermuda Open that play for the day was “Blown Out”.
Steady winds out of the West-North-West blowing 34 knots gusting to 46 knots, along with the fact that golf balls on the greens exposed to the south shore elements were blowing off the course the greens forced the BGA officials to pull the golfers that were on the course off the course.
West told the golfers gathered, “Today’s conditions are not expected to get better for a while so today’s round has been Blown Out, golfers will play 36 holes tomorrow beginning at 7:00am, with the same Tee Groups”.
