Bermuda's Brazilian Soccer School CEO Calvin Blankendal announced that Mary Phillip former professional women's player (England Captain with 65 caps, Arsenal - Women's European Cup Winner, League and FA Champion (multiple occasions) and Brian Hall will host a Mid Term Camp beginning February 8th and will run until the 12th.
Blankendal said, “The camp is open to ages 7 - 18 Boys and Girls, however 25 places have been reserved for Girls for the camp. People can get registration forms via our web-site www.bermudasoccer.org by clicking on the February 2010 Camp link at the top of the page”.
Phillip who now holds a EUFA B coaching badge made her England debut whilst with Millwall Lionesses, playing in the same team as current National Coach Hope Powell in 1996.
Phillip was the club captain at Fulham, for whom she lifted The FA Women’s Cup in front of 10,000 fans and 1.9m viewers on BBC Television in May 2003, the season Fulham completed the treble.
While at Arsenal Phillip won League and FA Women's Cup Doubles, in 2005–06, 2005–06 and 2007–08, and one domestic Treble, in 2006–07. Phillip and Arsenal represented England in the UEFA Women's Cup, and had reached the semi-finals in 2004–05.
Phillip also captained England in the absence of her teammate Faye White, who suffered a cruciate ligament injury at the start of the 2006/07 season, when they overcame France to secure passage to the World Cup in China. She won a total of 65 caps for the national side.
At the end of the 2007/08 season it was announced that Mary would be leaving Arsenal Ladies. She later joined Chelsea Ladies in time for the start of the 2008/09 season.
