Following Three Days of the 2009 Senior Dixie Amateur Championships in Florida, Robert Vallis has finished 2nd shooting 6-under par 210.
During the Second Round at the famous Heron Bay Golf Club winds soared and so did many scores. Five-time Dixie Amateur Champion Rick Woulfe of Fort Lauderdale fired a 69 and saw his lead shrink to three shots. Vallis, reigning British Senior Amateur Champion fired the day’s best round of 67 to get within 3 strokes of the lead.
The final day of the 2009 Senior Amateur seemed familiar as Ft. Lauderdale’s Rick Woulfe not only became the first inductee into The Dixie Amateur Hall of Fame, he also won his 6th Dixie Amateur. Woulfe’s final round 69 stretched his winning victory margin to six shots over 2009 British Senior Amateur Champion Vallis.
Also taking part in the Senior Tournament was Eric Trott who finished T17th shooting 10-over par 226.
