Osborne Finishes T11th in Classic
The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour traveled to the Tiger Point Golf & Country Club in Gulf Breeze, Florida to host the Tiger Point Junior Classic that saw Alex Osborne finished T11th.

This links style course has an abundance of water hazards and features an island green on the par-4 fifth hole. Players had to strategically place the ball on each hole in order to score well. This particular tournament featured local players from Pensacola, as well as players from 19 different countries. The weather was cool and rainy in the mornings, but made way to sunshine in the afternoon.

In the Boys 16-19 division Osborne shot a first round 8-over par 80, in his first round Osborne shot 1 Birdie, 10 Pars, 5 Bogey’s and 2 Double Bogey’s.

Ben Palanski of Budapest, Hungary, started off the tournament hot when he eagled the very first hole. Palanski finished the first round as the leader in his division, carding a two-under par, 70. Behind Palanski was Jack Hume of Ireland who finished the first round at two-over par, 74. After the first round, the competition for third place was tight with 15 players within five strokes of each other.

The final round saw huge shifts in the leaderboard; Hume came back and played a solid final round of even-par, 72, and overtook Palanski for the top spot. Hume took home the title with a tournament total of 146. Hume had six birdies, 22 pars, and the best par-4 performance for the weekend. Palanski struggled on his front nine, but was able to card a 79 for a tournament total of 149, which tied him for second place. Meechai Padungsiriseth of Bangkok, Thailand, was one of the 15 players in contention for third place after the first round. Padungsiriseth made a push from the very back of that pack and carded a tournament low round of four-under par, 68, during the final round for a tournament total of 149 and a tie for second.

In his second round Osborne shot 1 Birdie, 12 Pars, 3 Bogeys and 2 Double Bogey’s in his round of 6-over par 78.
