Emmett Turner had a modest 71 in his final round at Deerwood Golf Club, but it was still enough to earn top honors at the Kingwood site, beating the field by two strokes.
However the same could not be said for Michael Sims after concluding his third round shooting 1-under par 70 to sit at 2-under par for the tournament Sims began his final round T22nd and with 22 players moving on to the final stage from Kingwood, Sims shot a final round 1-over par 72 to finish T33rd.
Sims started out with a Bogey on the Par 4 number One and then had a Double Bogey on the Par 4 number Eight, a Birdie on the next hole saw Sims make the turn 2-over par.
On the back nine Sims shot a Birdie on the Par 4 number Fourteen to go along with eight Pars to end his round 1-over.
