Beshan Lewis has scored the game winner for his school Louisburg College to advance to the Semi-Finals of the NJCAA National Championships at Mercer County Community College in NJ.
#5 Ranked Louisburg College defeated #4 Ranked Yavapai College, AZ the defending champs 3 – 1, with Lewis scoring the second goal with a left foot shot from the left edge of the 18 yard box into the top left corner to put Louisburg up 2-1, Lewis also had an assist on the teams third goal.
Lewis’ coach Dave Sexton speaking exclusively to www.islandstats.com said, “Lewis has done a great job for us this season and continues to improve. Although he has only started a few games he has got significant playing time in every game and is our second highest goaslscorer with 16 goals and 8 assists in 20 games, including two hat-tricks”.
Sexton concluded, “He works very hard to close opponents down and has created several goalscoring opportunities from pressurizing opposing defenders in this way. He has a great attitude toward training and is a popular player amongst his teammates”.
