Jyire Mitchell - BERMUDA MOTOCROSS CLUB

Mitchell is 9 years old and attends Warwick Academy. Mitchell is one of the country’s most talented junior motocross riders. Despite his size and age, our recipient is a very dedicated and determined athlete and is clearly focused on becoming Bermuda’s first professional motocross rider.
Since starting his motocross experience, Mitchell has come first in his age group in the Bermuda Motocross Championships on numerous occasions. He has also competed in the USA National and the Canadian Championship events. Mitchell was awarded $4,964.00 to use to travel to three (3) overseas events, to attend the Gary Bailey MX School at the end of March of this year, and to purchase a 2007 65cc KTM Stocked Bike.

Jasmine Patterson - BERMUDA HOCKEY ASSOCIATION

Patterson is 16 years of age and attends Saltus Grammar School. Our recipient is a highly gifted player and was a key member of the 2005 Pan American Junior Hockey Team. She is currently training with the High Performance Junior Girls Team in preparation for their upcoming tour to Holland in August/September of this year.
Her ultimate goals are to assist the National team in qualifying for the 2009 Pan American Junior Games and represent Bermuda at the CAC Games in 2010. Patterson was awarded $2,685.00 to attend a training camp at Seaford College Sports Facility, and to purchase new equipment

Mark Phillips - BERMUDA JUNIOR GOLF ASSOCIATION

Phillips is 17 years of age and attends Heritage Academy. Our recipient experienced his first tournament in 1997 when he finished in the top ten (10) position in the Pepsi Little Peoples Tournament. In 1998 he repeated this accomplishment by finishing in the top ten (10) in the Exxon Overseas Tournament. During this 1999 season, he won the Ocean View Junior Championship, the Atlantic International ten (10) and under boys division and the Glidden Bowl ten (10) and under boys title. From 2000 to 2003 he has won a total of eleven (11) individual titles and has finish in the top ten (10) in sixteen (16) different local and international events.
During his 2004 season, he finished 1st in the Fecchio Cup, the Glidden Bowl, the Junior Match Play, the Atlantic International and the Junior Grand Slam. Phillips was awarded $3,024.00 to attend the Dave Pelz Short Game Golf School in July.

Cameron Pimentel - BERMUDA SAILING ASSOCIATION

Pimentel
is 15 years of age and attends Mount St. Agnes Academy. His goals for this year are to continue sailing in the Laser Radial Class and to improve his physical fitness level to the point where he can possibly compete in a major overseas regatta. In addition to this goal, he also intends to qualify for the 2007 Radial Youth World Championships in the Netherlands. During the 2003, 2004, and 2005 BODA Fall series he placed in the top 5 in all three events. Internationally, during that same time period, he placed 1st in the 2003 Bermuda Optimist National Championship, 1st in the 2005 Bermuda Nationals 420, and 1st in the 2005 Bermuda Optimist National Championships. This achievement crowned him the only two-time winner in the event. Pimentel's ultimate goal is to one day qualify for the Olympics in the Laser event. Pimentel was awarded $4,285.00 to assist with his training and preparation as he travel to the South American ILCA and the North American ISAF Grade I events.
