The Continental Bowling League delivered another round of intense competition in Week 8 of the 2025/26 season at Warwick Lanes, marked by an impressive upset and a crucial top-of-the-table clash.
Sixth-placed Cubs pulled off the result of the week, putting in a commanding performance to defeat ninth-placed Sunset by a convincing margin of 21-6. The victory will provide a much-needed boost to the Cubs’ push toward the top half of the standings, further distancing themselves from the bottom three.
Meanwhile, league leaders Nifty Rollers demonstrated exactly why they sit atop the table with a dominant display against seventh-placed The Invaders. The Rollers cruised to a comprehensive 25-2 victory, sending a clear message to the rest of the league that their title defence remains firmly on track.
In the only fixture that did not take place, fourth-placed Spicenix had the benefit of The Bye.
The biggest showdown of the night was the highly anticipated clash between second-placed Under Dawgs and third-placed Astronauts.
In a tightly contested battle for second spot, the Under Dawgs proved too strong, securing an important 18-9 win. This victory not only cements their position but also creates a crucial gap between themselves and the chasing pack, giving them vital breathing room as they hunt down the Nifty Rollers.
Elsewhere, the fifth-placed Odd Balls also secured a significant win, dispatching eighth-placed New Hope with a comfortable 25-2 scoreline.
