The CS Tires Cobra Puma Junior Championship 2025 is underway at the Ocean View Golf Course, with Lewis MacFarlane and Arman Newton establishing early leads in their respective divisions after a solid first day of competition.
The most competitive round of the day came from the Boys 14-17 Division, where Arman Newton separated himself from the field, carding a fine even-par 72 to take the lead.
Chasing him is Johnny Bart, who finished the round four strokes back on 76, while Ramsay Soutter sits in third place with a score of 79. Newton will aim to maintain his momentum heading into the final round to secure the trophy.
In the Boys 11-13 category, Lewis MacFarlane has built a commanding lead. MacFarlane shot a first-round score of 77, giving him a seven-stroke advantage over his nearest rival.
Fletcher Logie is currently positioned in second place with an 84, narrowly ahead of Damian Moniz, who completed his opening round with an 85.
Darina Betschart is the sole competitor in the Girls Division. She recorded a respectable score of 4-over par 74, a performance that sets a strong benchmark for the rest of the championship.
