Tennis player Trey Mallory’s run in his second consecutive M15 Kayseri International Tennis tournament has ended abruptly after a swift straight-sets defeat in the Main Draw in Turkey.
Mallory, who is competing on the professional circuit following his collegiate career, faced Russia’s Semen Pankin in the First Round. Unfortunately for the Bermudian, the match proved to be a challenging test of competitive intensity.
Pankin displayed clinical form, overwhelming Mallory to secure the victory in commanding fashion with a 6-0, 6-1 scoreline. The match highlights the steep learning curve Mallory faces as he competes against experienced professional players in the Main Draw.
Despite the early exit, the appearance in the Main Draw of consecutive M15 events provides valuable experience for Mallory as he continues to build his international ranking and professional career.
