Tennis player Daniel Phillips has made an immediate impact at his new school, Tulane University, guiding Tulane to a win in his second match since transferring from Arizona State.
Competing at the Blue Gray Invitational in Birmingham, Phillips and his doubles partner, Alec Gaudin, got Tulane off to a strong start. The duo defeated Georgia Tech's Richard Biagiotti and Elias Shokry with a convincing 8-6 victory.
Phillips then wrapped up the match for Tulane in the first singles contest, securing the overall win by defeating Biagiotti in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3.
While Gaudin went on to lose a three-set battle to Shokry, Phillips's decisive performances in both doubles and singles ensured Tulane's victory.
