Divine Shows Significant Progress at Brands Hatch

IslandStats.com
Aeziah Divine demonstrated significant progress and resilience at the R&G British Talent Cup, competing on the challenging Brands Hatch Race Track. Despite previous difficulties at the circuit, Divine showed marked improvement throughout the weekend.

Divine quickly found his rhythm, shaving two seconds off his 2024 personal best in the first practice session, followed by another second in the second practice, breaking into the 1:39s. He continued this momentum into qualifying, securing 18th place with a time of 1:38.486, exceeding his own expectations.

Race 1 presented challenges from the start. Divine was pushed back at Turn 1 but steadily gained ground on the group ahead as the race progressed. However, a red flag due to rain with three laps remaining brought the race to an early end, with Divine finishing in 22nd position.

For Race 2, Divine made a much-improved start from 23rd on the grid, rocketing to 17th by Turn 2. He found himself battling within a competitive group ranging from 13th to 18th place. The race was again red-flagged with five laps to go due to rain. Despite the premature end, Divine was pleased with his performance, crossing the line in 17th and successfully breaking into the 1:37s.

Reflecting on the weekend, Divine expressed satisfaction with his progress: "It was great being back at Brands with more experience... By the end of the weekend, I had taken 5 seconds off my Personal Best time from last year. I ended the weekend just 2 seconds off the times of the race leaders and learned a lot."

Divine credited his team, Fibre Tec Honda - MLav Racing, for their support and setup, which helped build his confidence. His consistent edging towards the middle of the pack marks a significant boost as he looks forward to the next event at Thruxton in two weeks.
