Today marked the second day of the 3 day event held at the historical Indianapolis Speedway in Indianapolis, Indiana. The second day of the USGPRU event was the first day of racing for all those participating in the Moriwaki MD250H spec classification. Team Tuned riders Cody Sousa-Saints and Bruce Degrilla Jr qualified 18th and 22nd fastest respectively which assigned their grid positions for the first race of the event. The team worked diligently overnight to prepare the motorcycles for Sousa-Saints and Degrilla Jr to be more competitive for their race event. Race 1 turned out to be both an step forward and backwards for Sousa-Saints and Degrilla Jr as they aimed to improve on their grid positions in the race. Degrilla Jr started from the rear of the field and attempted to make up positions into the first 2 sections of the track. Unfortunately Degrilla Jr made a small mistake and applied his brakes a bit too late forcing him to run wide and lose touch with the pack of riders from 15-20th. Sousa-Saints made a similar mistake half way through the race but was unlucky in his efforts to resume racing as he crashed off track in turn 10 of the 2 mile circuit. Sousa-Saints quickly remounted and reentered the race 7 seconds after the crash and completed his first event behind his teammate. Race Results:

Team Manager, Cyril Whitter III, said, “ Sousa-Saints and Degrilla Jr continued their adaptation to racing in an international event at the prestigious Indianapolis Speedway today. We as a team made a few adjustments to both riders bikes prior to the race which we thought may help them fight for a top 10 position. Unfortunately we went a bit too far in our adjustments and will need to make a bit more adjustments to give them a better package for tomorrows race.
Post race we as a team set down and reviewed the race and the events of the day to get a better understanding of our true position. Sousa-Saints and Degrilla Jr remain motivated and are eager to continue to progress in their adaptation to this spec series. This race is one of 3 which we are planning to participate in during the 2010 season. To be able to compete against the best riders in America in front of the MotoGP paddock is rare opportunity. Sousa-Saints and Degrilla Jr are very appreciative to have the support to participate and they are making the best out of their situation."
