Bermuda finished second to Aruba who defeated them on the opening day of the tournament, and will now play in Group 3 for the third time.
Following a rest day for Bermuda came up against a Panama team that was 0 & 3 for the tournament.
Steve Bean is the captain of the Bermuda team on this Davis Cup tour, while Gavin Manders, Jenson Bascome, Jacob Trott and Nicholas Thuell are the players.
In the day’s first match Manders won in straight sets defeating Jose Gomez 6 – 2, 6 – 4. Jenson Bascome then took to the court to face Giuseppe Guarnieri, Bascome was taken to three sets and with the score tied 6 - 6 in the decider Guarnieri retired hurt. Bascome went down in the first set 6 – 2, before bouncing back to take the second set 6 – 3.
In the Doubles match Jacob Trott and Nicholas Thuell saw their first action of the tournament when they went against Gomez and Walner Espinoza. Trott and Thuell won the first set 7 – 6, 5 in the tie-breaker and then won the second set 6 - 3.
