Aeziah Divine was really happy to make it to the final double-points round after missing round 6 due to car problems.
Divine almost didn’t make it to this round too, but thankfully things lined up in the end.
In his only race on the opening day, Divine recorded a Did Not Finish (DNF).
Divine had a good start & climbed to 4th, Divine had been fighting to reach the pace of the Bill Harris, and Luke Fitchet up until the race so when he was able to pass them off the line, he knew he had to work hard to stay in front of them.
Lap three, Harris found a way cross then the next lap Fitchett made a move stick. Divine fought to stay with them but his rear tire let go as he exited the chicane.
It then bit back and flung Divine quite high and over the front.
The bike flipped and came back down on Divine with his legs somehow caught between the frame & exhaust.
It was the first time Divine caused a Flag to go out on a race.
Thankfully, Divine had help close by to get him off track to safety & the safety cars arrived to check him over.
Divine said, “I am really grateful to walk away from the crash with no real injuries. My first DNF this season.”
