Scott Barnes would not have the best Second Day at the AMR Homestead-Miami Motorplex Presented by MG Tires.
Barnes competed in the Mas Shifter Class, Barnes would finish 2nd in the Qualifier, Barnes’ fastest lap in the Qualifier was 47.085, with Freddy Rhemmrev clocking 46.976 to finish as the fastest qualifier.
In the Pre-Final, the Karts raced 12 laps with Barnes finishing ahead of Rhemrev with a time of 9:33.749, with Rhemrev clocking a time of 9:34.170.
In the Mas Shifter Class Final, Barnes was leading the race 10 laps in, when the back gear came loose and he had to retire from the race, leaving Rhemmrev to run away with the 22 lap win in a time of 17:42.815.
Barnes said, “It was a frustrating finish to the weekend, frustrating because we were the winner kart for sure, I guess that’s racing. I will use that one as the drop race and move onto next month’s race weekend.”
