No. 16 national seed Middle Tennessee State nailed down the early point and then added victories in the first three singles matches of the court to shut out Trey Mallory and his UNC Wilmington Men's Tennis teammates, 4 - 0, in the opening round of the 2022 NCAA Raleigh Regionals at NC State's J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center.
The No. 3 team for Middle Tennessee, Stepan Holis and Chris Edge, defeated Gabe Hurtado and Mallory, 6-3.
Middle Tennessee pushed their lead to 2-0 when Pavel Motl, a senior from Prstice, Czech Republic, defeated freshman, Mallory, 6-2, 6-2, at No. 6 Singles spot.
