Bermuda’s Under 14 Boys’ team of Zach McGuire, Tobiah Goodchild, and Johnny Bart finished 9th at the ITF World Junior Championships Pre Qualifier in El Salvador.
The team picked up their first win of the tournament when they defeated Puerto Rico the day before took on Barbados in the 9th – 10th place match and came away winning 2 – 0.
Goodchild was first on the court in the number two Singles spot, he would take on Dimitri Kirton, the pair battled for 2 hours and 2 minutes in a three-setter.
Kirton won the first set 6-4, but Goodchild won the second set 6-1, the third set-tiebreaker would end with Goodchild winning 13-11.
McGuire would take to the court knowing a win would end the contest, it took him 1 hour and 13 minutes to defeat Aidan Clarke in straight sets 6-0, 6-4.
