Trey Mallory and his UNC Wilmington Men's Tennis teammates went down in their opener of the 13th Annual Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Kick-Off Weekend at the Alfred A. Ring Tennis Complex to Florida State.
UNCW took the first match off the court in doubles play, but Florida State rallied to blank UNCW 4 - 0.
Playing indoors due to unseasonably cold temperatures in the Sunshine State, the two teams opened the match with doubles.
Mallory and Dillon Gooch took to the court in the number 2 Doubles spot and went down 6 – 3 to Andreja Petrovic and Youcef Rihane.
Mallory was to play Rihane in the number six Singles spot, but because of the earlier results, the match was not needed to be completed.
