With Shelby Madeiros and her Siena Women’s Tennis teammates looking to defend a MAAC Championship, the programs saw the MAAC Preseason Coaches Poll revealed.
The women were picked third for the third straight season while garnering a pair of first place votes.
On the Women's side, taking the top spot with 46 points and four first place votes is Quinnipiac, followed by Fairfield who was picked second with 41 points and just one first place vote.
Both schools ahead of Siena were picked 1-2 last season, with Quinnipiac earning the same number of points and first place votes as a year ago. Siena would defeat Quinnipiac in the MAAC Championship match. Siena brought in 39 points in third while earning the two first place votes, with Marist garnering 25 points in fourth. Rounding out the poll was Monmouth and Niagara each earning 19 points in a tie for fifth, and Rider coming in seventh with seven points. The defending MAAC Champs return the likes of seniors Meagan Brown and Anastasia Koniaev, along with fifth year Nanea Perkins – all who will compete for roster spots headed by Brown who will occupy the top spot in the lineup. All-MAAC selections last season in Emma Boggiali and Maanya Viswanath will also occupy spots in the lineup with sophomore Madeiros returning for depth.
Siena also add newcomers Jade Gautier and Laia Giralt to compete for spots in the lineup as they pursue a second straight MAAC Championship.
