Marcus Scotland did not have the best day, but he and his Newport CC Wales teammates won back-to-back Twenty20 matches winning the T20 KO Cup-Final.
In the first match, Newport defeated Swansea Cricket Club by 7 wickets, Swansea batted first and was restricted to 130/8, Jake Roberts was the top scorer with 38, while Tegh Sehgal was the pick of the Newport bowlers with figures of 4-0-17-3.
In reply Newport scored 131/3, Harry Friend was the top scorer with 52 not out, Scotland was out for 1, and Adam Sylvester was the pick of the Swansea bowlers with figures of 4-0-14-1.
In the second match, Newport defeated Bridgend Town Cricket Club by 67 runs, Newport batted first and scored 147/4 in their allotted 20 overs, Morgan Bevans was the top scorer with 65, while Scotland was out without scoring, Tomos Jones was the pick of the Bridgend bowlers with figures of 4-0-17-3.
In reply Bridgend was bowled out for 80, Troy St David Smith was the top scorer with 18, Kameel Sahabdeen was the pick of the Newport bowlers with figures of 3.4-0-17-3, with Scotland holding onto a catch and also had 2 stumpings.
