The Bermuda Cricket Board (BCB) and Chivas Regal, the leader in quality blended scotch, announced the winner of the weekly Chivas Cricket Sportsman Award (CCSA).
The winner of the award for week 8 is umpire OJ Pitcher of St. David’s Cricket Club.
During the games between Somerset Cricket Club and St. David’s Cricket Club, in a hard fought and well played very close match both captains did an excellent job in keeping both their teams focused on the task at hand and allowing any situations during the game, umpiring decisions, fielding or batting errors, etc., to detract from a truly exciting match. The St. David’s players were gracious in defeat with both sets of players shaking hands at the end. The umpires commended both teams’ Captains and Coaches on the way the teams handled themselves making it a real pleasure to officiate. Pitcher’s leadership in defeat was a great example of sportsmanship.
The Chivas motto is ‘Live with Chivalry,’ and cricket is renowned for being a gentleman’s sport. Only the best for the best, Chivas 18 is a uniquely rich and multi-layered blend that includes over twenty of Scotland's rarest single malt Scotch whiskies.
The award was presented to Sam Robinson who accepted on behalf of Pitcher.
