Netball League Women’s & Co-ed Division Round-Ups

The Bermuda Netball Association’s Summer League season continued last night at Bernard’s Park, delivering another series of captivating matches across both the Women’s and Co-ed Divisions.

The evening saw a mix of decisive victories and competitive encounters.

Women's Division: St. George's, Lady Stars & Phoenix Flames Triumphant

In the Women's Division opener, St. George’s Cricket Club defeated K-Net Assets 27-20. Hailey Smith was named St. George’s Best Attacker, Tamae Flood the Best Defender, and Nicole Smith the MVP. For K-Net Assets, Khianda Pearman-Watson was both Best Attacker and MVP, with Allison King as Best Defender.

Next up, Lady Stars delivered a commanding performance, routing Law & Disorder 53-7. Chiaje Rudo was Lady Stars' Best Attacker, Asante Chapman the Best Defender, and Kaylee Lema the MVP. For Law & Disorder, Sarai Paul was Best Attacker, Malacia Madden Best Defender, and Rachel Nightingale the MVP.

The final Women’s Division match saw the Phoenix Flames defeat PHC 12-8. Eshe Grant was the Phoenix Flames' Best Attacker, Antonia Holder their Best Defender, and Uni Simmons the MVP. PHC's Best Attacker was Terita Bean, while Debre Evans was named both Best Defender and MVP.

Co-ed Division: Storm Chasers and Gold Diggers Secure Wins

In the Co-ed Division, Storm Chasers delivered a strong performance, defeating BHB 35-18. Antoine Williams was the Storm Chasers' Best Attacker, Debre Evans the Best Defender, and Amaury Majors the MVP. Sheldon Bahadosingh was BHB's Best Attacker, Tina Wall their Best Defender, and Stacey Brown their MVP.

Finally, the Gold Diggers defeated the Bean Counting Netballerz 18-7. Rakeem Deshields was the Gold Diggers’ Best Attacker, Idrees Sharieff the Best Defender, and Asante Chapman the MVP. For the Bean Counting Netballerz, Denise Truter was Best Attacker, Marnus Slabbert Best Defender, and Allison King the MVP.

Another action-packed night at Bernard's Park highlighted the competitive and dynamic nature of the Bermuda Netball Association’s Summer League season.

Bad News Beers Dominate KillaWhats in Softball Finale

The Bad News Beers concluded their Bermuda Softball League regular season in emphatic fashion tonight, securing a commanding 22-3 victory over the KillaWhats at the Michael Preece Softball Diamond.

In the final regular season match, the Bad News Beers' offense fired on all cylinders. Keaton Pewter was a standout performer, going 3 for 4 from the plate, including a double, two home runs, and driving in 6 RBIs. He was well supported by Jackson Powell, who had a productive night going 4 for 5 from the plate, with two triples, a home run, and 4 RBIs.

For the KillaWhats, Ari Tucker managed to go 2 for 3 from the plate, but his team was ultimately unable to stem the flow of runs from the high-flying Bad News Beers.

This dominant win provides the Bad News Beers with strong momentum heading into the playoffs, while the KillaWhats will be looking to regroup for their post-season challenges.

Dominant Displays Continue in Netball Summer League

The Bermuda Netball Association’s Summer League season continued last night at Bernard’s Park, delivering another series of captivating matches across both the Women’s and Co-ed Divisions.

The evening saw some comprehensive victories as teams vied for supremacy on the court.

Women's Division: Phoenix Flames and PHC Secure Convincing Wins

In the Women's Division opener, the Phoenix Flames delivered a commanding performance, extinguishing Law & Disorder with a decisive 38-5 victory. Best Attacker Sydney Santos led the charge for the Flames, netting 11 goals, ably supported by Caillia Joell (10 goals), Uni Simmons (7 goals), Krishay Tucker (6 goals), and Amari Graham (4 goals). Sanaa Grant was named the MVP. For Law & Disorder, MVP and Best Attacker Kandrea Romaine scored 2 goals, with Terita Flood adding 2 and Sarai Paul one. Malacia Madden was their Best Defender.

The second match in the division saw PHC defeat St. George’s Cricket Club 25-17. Tyra Simmons was prolific for PHC, scoring 15 goals. Sarafina Woolridge-Burns added 5 goals, Best Attacker Selah Tuzo contributed 4, and Terita Bean scored twice. Debre Evans was named Best Defender and MVP. For St. George’s Cricket Club, MVP Nisaiah Berkeley and Coriah Simmons both scored 7 goals, while Stacey O'Brien added 3. Shawnae Brangman was their Best Attacker, and Riley Jones their Best Defender.

Co-ed Division: BHB and Storm Chasers Impress

In the Co-ed Division opener, BHB delivered a strong performance, defeating RenRe 28-10. Best Attacker Sheldon Bahadosingh led BHB's scoring with 12 goals. Frederica Walker and their Best Defender both added 6 goals, Kristin Holman scored 3, and Stacey O'Brien contributed one. Demiqua Daniels was named the MVP. RenRe saw MVP Jamie Cedenio score 6 goals, with Best Attacker Alice Cedenio and Naron Woods adding 2 goals each. Brighton Swan was their Best Defender.

The final game of the night saw the Storm Chasers dominate the Front Street Mafia with a 33-14 victory. Storm Chasers' Best Attacker Antoine Williams was in exceptional form, netting 20 goals. Selah Tuzo added 8 goals, and MVP Amaury Majors scored 5. Josh Hardtman was named the team's Best Defender. For the Front Street Mafia, Charlie Evans scored 7 goals, Meg Sherwin added 5, and Jasmine Mapp contributed two. Olivia Bugg was their Best Attacker, Nathan Clara the Best Defender, and Jana Philips the MVP.

Bernard's Park was once again the scene of lively netball action as the Bermuda Netball Association’s Summer League season continued with a series of matches across the Women’s and Co-ed Divisions.

The evening featured some decisive victories alongside a hard-fought encounter, showcasing the diverse talent within the league.

Women's Division: Dandy Stars and Devonshire Recreation Club Secure Wins

In the opening match of the Women’s Division, the Dandy Stars delivered a commanding performance, routing K-Net Assets with a score of 41-5. MVP and Best Attacker Julessa Robinson was the prolific force for the Dandy Stars, netting an impressive 32 goals. Kim Thompson added a further 9 goals, and Zindzi Swan was named the Best Defender. For K-Net Assets, Denise Truter scored 4 goals, with Jahtuere Trott adding one. Knakita Bent was their Best Attacker, while Luisina Medran earned both Best Defender and MVP honours despite the loss.

The second Women’s Division match saw Devonshire Recreation Club defeat PHC 24-16. Drue Bascome led the scoring for Devonshire Recreation Club with 14 goals, supported by Miesha Greaves who added 10. Demiqua Daniels was named the Best Attacker, Keizhari Knights the Best Defender, and Tina Wall the MVP for DRC. For PHC, Sonja Townsend scored 7 goals, Selah Tuzo added 6, and Terita Bean contributed three. Melissa Burrows was named Best Attacker, while Debre Evans earned both Best Defender and MVP for PHC.

Co-ed Division: Gold Diggers Edge Close Contest, Storm Chasers Dominate

The Co-ed Division began with a closely contested match where the Gold Diggers edged out the Front Street Mafia 16-13. Best Attacker Coriah Simmons led the scoring for the Gold Diggers with 10 goals, with Sydney Santos adding 6. Rakeem Deshields was named the Best Defender, and Alex Mason the MVP. For the Front Street Mafia, Best Attacker Charlie Evans netted 9 goals, and Meghan Sherwin added 4. Jana Philips was their Best Defender, and Kyle Godfrey the MVP.

The final game of the night saw the Storm Chasers deliver a dominant performance, defeating the Bean Counting Netballerzs 45-16. Storm Chasers' MVP Antoine Williams was in exceptional form, scoring 31 goals. Jamir Hatherley added 7 goals, Nabiilah Nasir scored five times, and Best Attacker Selah Tuzo contributed 3. Debre Evans was named the team's Best Defender. For the Bean Counting Netballerzs, Best Attacker Jahkenya Trott scored 10 goals, with Denise Truter adding the other 6. Osie Agypong was named their Best Defender.

Action in the Bermuda Netball Association’s Summer League season resumed with a total of five captivating games played across the Women’s and Co-ed Divisions at Bernard’s Park.

The evening saw some comprehensive victories alongside fiercely contested battles, providing plenty of entertainment for the netball enthusiasts.

Women's Division: Flames, DRC, and Lady Stars Victorious

In the opening match of the Women’s Division, the Phoenix Flames delivered a commanding performance, defeating K-net Assets 44-12.

MVP Eshe' Grant was the star of the show for the Flames, netting an impressive 37 goals. Sydney Santos added 4 goals and Krishay Tucker scored 3. Nevaeh Swan was named the Best Attacker, while Dominique Richardson earned Best Defender honours for the Phoenix Flames. For K-net Assets, Best Attacker Jahkenya Trott led their scoring with 9 goals, supported by Denise Truter's 3. Khianda Pearman-Watson was their Best Defender, and Luisina Medran was named MVP.

The second match in the division saw Devonshire Recreation Club put in a dominant display, outscoring Law & Disorder 48-6.

Best Attacker Miesha Greaves led the scoring for Devonshire Recreation Club with 22 goals, while MVP Kristin Holman added 16. Kessiah Jackson contributed 6 goals and Jamir Hatherley scored 4. Tina Wall was named the Best Defender for DRC. For Law & Disorder, MVP Rachel Nightingale scored 5 goals, with Tseda Simmons adding one. Terita Flood was their Best Attacker, and Kiera Trott the Best Defender.

The final Women’s Division match of the evening was a closer affair, with the Lady Stars defeating PHC 25-17.

Lady Stars' MVP Julesa Robinson spearheaded their victory with 16 goals, ably supported by Marissa Brangman who added 9 goals. Kaylee Lema was named the Best Attacker, and Zindzi Swan the Best Defender for Lady Stars. For PHC, Sonja Townsend scored 14 goals, with Terita Bean adding the other 3. Melissa Burrows was named Best Attacker, while Debre Evans earned both Best Defender and MVP accolades for PHC.

Co-Ed Division: Bean Counting Netballerz and BHB Secure Wins

In the Co-ed Division opener, the Bean Counting Netballerz defeated RenRe 18-9.

Best Attacker Jahkenya Trott led the Bean Counting Netballerz to victory with 12 goals, while Jahtuere Trott added the remaining 6. Marmus Slabbert was named both the Best Defender and MVP for the winning side. RenRe saw Best Attacker Chelzea Somner score 4 goals, Kiarra Francis add 3, and MVP David Oten net twice. Euan Rutherford was their Best Defender.

In the final match of the night, BHB delivered a strong performance to defeat the Front Street Mafia 24-12.

BHB's Best Attacker Sheldon Bahadosingh was prolific, scoring 15 goals, while Kristin Holman added 9. Tina Wall was named the Best Defender, and Demiqua Daniels the MVP for BHB. The Front Street Mafia's scoring was led by MVP Jasmine Mapp with 8 goals, and Best Attacker Nathan Clarke with 4. Jesse Marshall was named their Best Defender.
