ISL East All-Stars 10 ISL West All-Stars 9
The Island Soccer League All-Star game that will be seen around the World next week Saturday at 6pm and Sunday 2pm Bermuda Time is underway.
1st Quarter
Vernon Tankard gave the East the lead 1 - 0 two minutes into the game. Tankard got on the end of a Antoine Russell cross to tap the ball home. With some 12:25 remaining in the first half, Kamen Tucker equalized for the West when he beat East goalkeeper Ricky Tucker in a goal mouth scramble. Dwyia Blyden put the West ahead 2 -1 with 11 minutes to go when his left footed shot beat an advancing Tucker. Vincent Minors equalized for the East with a right footed low shot to Smith’s right. Rohaan Simons the leagues second leading goalscorer made it 3 - 2 to the West with a shot from outside the box. A move from Keston Lewis allowed Mark Steede to equalize for the East. Lewis took on two defenders before feeding Steede who slotted the ball home from close range. Aquino Grant made it 4 - 3 to the West with the a tap in. Blyden took on his marker showing strength and power to cross for Grant to put away.
2nd Quarter
Russell had a free kick saved by Smith, but one minute later Jason Davis pulled the East level with a right footed drive. Jemieko Jennings gave the West the lead again with a curling shot from outside the box. For the second time with 3 minutes Davis equalized for the East with a shot through a maze of players. A right footed rocket from Quincey Aberdeen flew pass West substitute keeper Zane Hendrickson to put the East ahead 6 - 5. Russell gave the East a 7 - 5 lead when he scored from close range after working hard with Davis. At the half the score remains ISL East All-Stars 7 ISL West All-Stars 5.
3rd Quarter
A right footed volley from some 20 yards out by Russell flew pass Hendrickson to make the score 8 - 5. Russell makes it 9 - 5 to the East when he coolly slotted the ball pass an out rushing Hendrickson. Russell the leagues leading scorer is showing everyone his ability. Grant put his name on the score sheet for the second time for the West when he won a battle with Tucker to score from close range to make the score 9 - 6. Russell added to his account with a low shot the went in under Smith in the West goal. Tucker scores his second goal for the West to make the score 10 - 7 with less than one minute remaining in the quarter.
4th Quarter
Reggie Lowe headed the West back into the game, when he converted from close range with just under 7 minutes remaining. Grant scored for the West with 4 minutes remaining. Grant followed up a bicycle shot from Simons that crashed against the crossbar. The All-Star game comes to an end with 19 goals scored as the East win 10 - 9.
