With the news that FOX SOCCER CHANNEL will be televising the Island Soccer League All-Star game already made public, now comes news that the World’s Greatest Player Edison Arantes do Nascimento best known by his nickname Pelé, maybe coming to Bermuda for the ISL All-Star Game.
www.islandstats.com asked ISL Commissioner David Bascome about the rumors, Bascome did not a deny or admit any truth to the rumor, but did say the ISL Team were working on something big and hopefully they can make an announcement very soon.
In his native Brazil, Pelé is hailed as a national hero. He is known for his accomplishments and contributions to the game of football, in addition to being officially declared the football ambassador of the world by FIFA and a national treasure by the Brazilian government. He was given the title of Athlete of the Century by the International Olympic Committee.[6]
