Dylan Spriggins scored 39 points and returning playmaker Cam Moore registered a triple-double as Terence Dill’s Houston Red Storm returned to winning ways in devastating fashion with a 136-76 demolition of Mamba's Brotherhood.
In front of a vibrant home crowd marking Breast Cancer Awareness Night at the Spirit of Life Gym on Saturday afternoon, the Red Storm produced a wire-to-wire masterclass to halt a testing recent run on the road.
Dill’s side established total control from the opening tip, racing to an early 10-2 cushion before unleashing a ruthless, unanswered 13-point burst.
Spriggins set the tone with 14 first-quarter points to blow the contest open at 37-14, before Houston tightened their defensive stranglehold to carry an unassailable 70-31 cushion into the half-time interval.
The onslaught continued unabated after the break, with the Red Storm eventually opening up a game-high 62-point buffer at 136-74 in the closing minutes.
The contest marked a seamless return for point guard Cam Moore, who orchestrated the floor with supreme composure to finish with 10 points, 10 rebounds, and a game-high 10 assists.
Moore's vision unlocked an incisive transition attack, with newly acquired veteran Jarvis Nicks making an immediate impact on his debut by pouring in 22 points off the bench. Inside, Josh Adeoye set an uncompromising tone under the rim, leading an all-court rebounding clinic.
Houston's dominance was underlined across the stat sheet. Dill's men converted an extraordinary 49 of 76 attempts inside the arc, racked up 43 assists across 58 made field goals, pulled down a mammoth 75 rebounds, and swiped 15 steals alongside seven blocks.
Houston Red Storm head coach Terence Dill said, "This is the exact response, intensity, and execution we needed to see after a tough stretch on the road.
"We set the tone early with defence and high-percentage shots in transition. Having Cam back organizing the floor and adding the energy that Jarvis brings gives us a completely different dynamic."
