Caesars Pharmacy The Answer maintained their flawless start to the Bermuda Basketball Association season, cruising to a comfortable 59-32 victory over Vanguard at the Bermuda College Gymnasium.
The emphatic win preserves Caesars Pharmacy's unbeaten record as they improved to 3-0, while condemning a struggling Vanguard side to another difficult outing as their search for a first victory continues.
Kieron Burgess spearheaded the charge for the league leaders, dropping a game-high 15 points to pace an efficient and dominant offensive performance. Eric Lambert provided the muscle under the glass, pulling down six rebounds to anchor a resolute defensive showing.
Vanguard battled hard despite falling behind early, with Max Kimberly providing their brightest spark on the night. Kimberly notched a team-leading 10 points and matched Lambert's six boards, but it proved insufficient to halt Caesars Pharmacy’s commanding second-half surge.
In the evening's second fixture, Young Goats secured a hard-fought 39-35 triumph over The Reapers in a defensive, low-scoring thriller.
Dion Greene delivered the decisive offensive punch for Young Goats, leading all scorers with 15 points. At the other end of the floor, Jahmir Trott proved pivotal in controlling the boards, pulling down a commanding nine rebounds to deny second-chance opportunities down the stretch.
The Reapers mounted a spirited response behind Kobie Reid’s nine points, while Jacob Estis battled courageously inside the paint to collect seven rebounds. However, Young Goats held their composure in the closing minutes, executing cleanly at the free-throw line to close out a four-point victory.
