The Reapers and Caesars Pharmacy The Answer both picked up hard-fought wins as the Bermuda Basketball Association (BBA) Men's League action continued with an energetic double-header.
In the opening clash, The Reapers held off a late push from Vanguard to secure a 45-37 victory.
Jacob Estis spearheaded the offensive charge for the winning side, knocking down a team-high 14 points. Down low, Kobie Reid controlled the glass, pulling down nine crucial rebounds to limit Vanguard’s second-chance opportunities down the stretch.
Vanguard remained competitive throughout, led by a game-high 18-point outing from Maxwell Lawrence III, who also contributed four rebounds. However, despite Lawrence's scoring prowess, Vanguard lacked the secondary punch required to reel in their opponents in the closing minutes.
The second fixture saw Caesars Pharmacy The Answer dictate the tempo, grinding out a 47-37 win over the Young Goats.
Kieron Burgess delivered a commanding performance on the offensive end, leading Caesars Pharmacy with a 15-point haul. Sam Darrell provided the defensive muscle inside, securing six rebounds to stifle the Young Goats’ interior presence.
The Young Goats mounted a balanced effort, with Te'Jour Riley registering nine points and pulling down eight boards, while Jonathan Lugo matched him on the scoreboard with nine points of his own.
Yet, as the game wore on, Caesars Pharmacy’s clinical edge in the key and disciplined board work proved the difference, wrapping up a ten-point margin of victory on a busy night of domestic league play.
