Bermuda Swimmers Back in Junior Pan Pacific Action
Bermuda’s young swimmers produced a series of impressive displays and personal-best times as competition continued at the 2026 Junior Pan Pacific Swimming Championships in Vancouver, Canada.

Taking on elite international competition at the UBC Aquatic Centre, the island's contingent made significant strides across the sprint freestyle, backstroke, and breaststroke preliminary heats.

During the 15—18 mixed 4×100m medley relay, the quartet of Connor Hupman, Teagan Mewett, Logan Jones and Katherine Wheddon recorded a time of 4:15.54, breaking the Bermuda record of 5:18.75, which had stood since December, 2017.

Hupman and Mewett lead the way with personal bests

Connor Hupman delivered a standout session, highlighted by a personal-best swim in the Men's 13-18 100m Freestyle. Hupman touched the wall in 52.63 seconds to place 34th overall in a fiercely contested field.

He was joined in the event by team-mates Logan Jones, who finished 48th in 54.34 seconds, and Noah Maranzana, who clocked 55.15 seconds to take 49th.

Hupman returned to the pool for the Men's 13-18 50m Backstroke sprint, recording a sharp time of 27.09 seconds to secure a top-20 finish in 20th place.

In the Women's 13-18 100m Breaststroke, Teagan Mewett rose to the occasion with a personal-best performance of her own. Mewett produced a strong, composed swim to clock 1:14.59, earning an impressive 18th place overall.
