Bermuda’s national volleyball teams enjoyed an emphatic clean sweep in the British Virgin Islands, with both the men’s and women’s squads recording commanding 3-0 victories over Anguilla at the 2026 ECVA Senior Championships.
The double triumph cements a formidable group-stage run for Bermuda at the Multi-Purpose Sports Complex, with the women maintaining their flawless, unbeaten record and the men booking their place into the tournament semi-finals.
Women Maintain Unblemished Run
Bermuda’s women produced a clinical, dominant display to make it three wins from three in Pool B, dispatching Anguilla in straight sets: 25-14, 25-14, 25-13.
Having already battled past defending champions Saint Lucia and outlasted Dominica in a marathon third-set thriller, Gary LeBlanc’s side showed ruthless efficiency from the service line and at the net.
Anguilla struggled to cope with Bermuda’s aggressive attack and disciplined defensive structure, allowing Bermuda to control the tempo from the opening serve and close out the match in comprehensive fashion.
Men Power Into the Semi-Finals
In the men’s draw, Bermuda followed suit with another composed straight-sets victory, sweeping past Anguilla 3-0 (25-21, 25-12, 25-21).After an evenly contested opening frame, Mike Smith’s squad hit top gear in the second set, suffocating Anguilla’s hitters with a dominant block to run away with a 25-12 margin.
Anguilla pushed hard to stay in the match during the third, but Bermuda held firm in the clutch moments to seal their second consecutive victory of the championship and maintain strong momentum heading into the knockout rounds.
