Bermuda's elite swimmers were back in the pool as the Bermuda Amateur Swimming Association hosted its Summer Long Course Meet at the National Sports Center, with Elan Daley and Thomas Cechini delivering standout performances.
Daley showed her class in the women's fifteen and over division, securing an impressive sprint double. She first dominated the one hundred meters freestyle, stopping the clock in a swift fifty-six point nine two seconds to finish ahead of Marleigh Howes, who took second in one minute zero point seven one seconds, and Katherine Wheddon in third.
Daley then returned to the blocks to claim the fifty meters butterfly title in twenty-eight point four five seconds, with Howes and Wheddon again chasing her home to round out the podium positions.
In the men's fifteen and over category, Thomas Cechini enjoyed an equally prolific meet. Cechini powered his way to victory in a fiercely contested one hundred meters freestyle final, clocking a sharp fifty-two point nine six seconds. Logan Jones pushed him all the way to take second spot in fifty-three point nine one seconds, while Gabriel Maranzana finished third.
Cechini duplicated his golden form in the fifty meters butterfly, flashing across the pool in twenty-six point zero seven seconds to secure his second win of the day. Jones collected another second-place finish, with Axel Wernbo finishing third.
The middle-distance events saw Dominic Wright produce a resolute swim in the men's fifteen and over two hundred meters freestyle, capturing first place in two minutes zero seven point nine eight seconds ahead of Noah Fulton, who clocked two minutes ten point three eight seconds.
Meanwhile, Lila Connolly provided a solitary masterclass in the women's fifteen and over one hundred meters breaststroke, completing her race in a well-paced one minute twenty-six point two seven seconds to cap off a successful summer meet for the island's swimming community.
