Netball Bermuda’s Summer League season returned with an action-packed four-match schedule at Bernard Park, highlighted by a masterclass from the Storm Chasers in the Co-ed Division.
The Storm Chasers produced the most clinical performance of the night by cruising to a 38-10 victory over the Bailey's Bay Breezers. Antione Williams put on a shooting clinic, accounting for 28 of his side's goals to claim the attacker of the match honours, while teammate Amaury Majors was named most valuable player. The Breezers fought valiantly with four goals apiece from Kamau Leverock and Jordyn Morris, but they were simply unable to contain a rampant Chasers attack.
In the opening match of the evening, RenaissanceRe and Friends edged past Somerset in a thrilling 17-14 encounter. Coriah Simmons led the scoring for the victors with nine goals, closely supported by Tai Cedenio who added eight. Somerset's Jazz Ratteray produced a stellar individual display, netting 10 goals and picking up the most valuable player award, but it was not quite enough to deny RenaissanceRe the points.
Drama followed in the final Co-ed fixture as Atlantic Aces and Allshores Ballers played out a tense 18-18 draw. Jasmine Mapp scored 10 for the Aces, but her efforts were cancelled out by Allshores' Miesha Greaves, who top-scored with 11 goals. Symira Lowe-Darrell was named most valuable player for the Ballers after an influential display that ensured the points were shared.
Greaves was back in action in the Women's Division, scoring eight goals to help Devonshire Recreational Club secure a convincing 25-13 win over the Netball Bermuda Under 21 Academy. Zakiyah Durham led the charge for Devonshire with 11 goals, while Diara Benjamin chipped in with six. Jamir Hatherley fought hard for the Academy pipeline with five goals, but Devonshire’s experience shone through, marshaled by a most valuable player performance from Demiqua Daniels.
