Boulevard Blazers 1 Dandy Town Hornets 1
Boulevard Blazers snatched a dramatic late point as an injury-time penalty denied Dandy Town Hornets victory in their opening Bermuda Football Association Under-23 fixture at Bernard's Park.
The highly anticipated clash between the two local rivals looked destined to go the way of the Hornets before a late twist deep into added time altered the script.
Following a tense and tactical opening 45 minutes, both sides struggled to find their rhythm in front of goal, leaving the match entirely scoreless at the halftime interval.
The deadlock was finally broken in the 67th minute when the Hornets capitalized on a lapse in the Blazers' defensive line. Jhazii Johnson showed fine composure inside the penalty area, firing a clinical strike past the goalkeeper to put Dandy Town in the driving seat.
As the clock ticked down, the Hornets appeared to have done enough to secure a hard-fought opening victory.
However, with two minutes of stoppage time already played, the Blazers engineered one final attacking surge. A mistimed challenge inside the box forced the referee to point to the penalty spot, handing Boulevard a lifeline.
Nazari Daley stepped up under immense pressure, remaining completely unphased as he confidently converted the spot-kick to spark wild celebrations from the Blazers bench and ensure the points were shared.
