Bermuda has officially unveiled the youth squads set to make history this summer, confirming the full player and coaching rosters for the island's debut appearance at the prestigious 2026 Portugal Basketball Festival.
The confirmation marks a monumental milestone for the local game, with two select national development teams heading to the European continent for the very first time to test their skills against a formidable international field.
To ensure they are fully prepared for the high-octane tournament in Lisbon, the traveling contingent will first undergo an intensive, one-week preparation training camp in the Portuguese capital. The specialized block will allow the players to adapt to the European climate, sharpen tactical systems, and gel as a unit before the official tournament tip-off on June 27th.
The national program has assembled a strong mix of size, speed, and emerging domestic talent across both configurations, led by an experienced coaching staff tasked with navigating this landmark international step.
The Under-17 national side will be spearheaded by head coach Ralph Scott, who will be ably supported on the baseline by assistant coach Joshua Nesbit.
Meanwhile, the Under-19 team will be guided through their European campaign by head coach Damiso Husband, with Jorel Smith stepping into the assistant coach role.
