Baileys Bay secure Coed thriller as Phoenix Blaze dominate

A high-scoring evening of Netball Bermuda Summer League action at Bernard Park saw Baileys Bay Breezers edge a one-point Coed Division thriller, before Devonshire Rec and Phoenix Blaze secured decisive victories in the Women’s League.

The Coed fixture produced the game of the night as Baileys Bay Breezers narrowly outlasted the Atlantic Aces 19-18 in a breathless, end-to-end encounter.

Alexia Pascall put on an absolute shooting clinic for the Breezers , accounting for the vast majority of her side's offence with a superb 16-goal haul, while Kayla Burgess chipped in with three vital points.

The Aces pushed them all the way down the stretch, courtesy of highly efficient scoring from Charlotte Evans and Jasmine Mapp, who logged nine goals apiece. However, the Breezers held their nerve to secure the points.

In the Women's Division matchup, Devonshire Rec relied on a balanced scoring circle to defeat Tropical Storm 23-16.

Keesiah Jackson spearheaded the Rec attack with nine goals, while Micah Pond and Demiqua Daniels added seven each to fracture the Storm defence. Journee Belboda fought valiantly for Tropical Storm, scoring an impressive 11 goals in a losing effort.

Devonshire Rec Awardees: Demiqua Daniels (MVP), Micah Pond (Attacker), Stacia Ming (Defender)

The final whistle saw Phoenix Blaze hand the Lady Stars a heavy 25-10 defeat.

Danielle Raynor was in imperious form beneath the post, netting a game-high 12 goals, while Callia Joel anchored the front line with seven goals of her own. Marissa Brangman provided the main resistance for the Stars, scoring eight of her side's ten goals on a tough outing.
