Stars Dominate & Bay Edge Thriller in Summer League

IslandStats.com
Netball Bermuda’s Summer League season resumed with a high-octane evening of action at Bernard Park, headlined by an absolute rout in the top flight and a dramatic, single-point thriller in the Coed Division.

The lone fixture in the Women’s Division saw the Lady Stars deliver a clinical defensive masterclass, completely dismantling Tropical Storm in a 32-6 victory. The Stars' fluid attacking circle functioned with flawless precision as K’Xiyae Gibbons and Nahjae Rayner each net double figures with 11 goals apiece, while Sioma Rudo added a sharp 10.

Gibbons' versatile, multi-phase court coverage earned her the Most Valuable Player award, with Rayner named the sharpest attacker and Zindzi Edmead securing the defensive honors. Tropical Storm fought tirelessly against a relentless low block, finding consolation through five goals from Nala Richardson and one from Diya Steede, while Elishae Smith claimed her side's MVP honors.

The high-stakes drama reached its peak in the Coed Division as Bailey’s Bay narrowly edged past the Atlantic Aces in a 16-15 nail-biter. Charlene Bogle led the scoring for the Bay with nine goals, supported by four from Druw Bascome and three from Kayla Burgess. Nwamiko Rock was named the standout defender to preserve the narrowest of margins, despite a brilliant individual performance from the Aces' Charlotte Evans, who netted a game-high eight goals to secure her team's MVP distinction.

The high-scoring momentum continued as the Storm Chasers produced a devastating attacking performance to overwhelm RenRe 26-10. Antoine Williams was the undisputed star of the show, putting on a shooting masterclass to rack up a staggering 20 goals to claim MVP honors. K’Xiyae Gibbons and Kibriyaa Boyles each chipped in with three goals to seal a fine team performance, comfortably holding off a ten-goal RenRe resistance led by Euan Rutherford.

The evening concluded with another one-sided affair as Allshores Ballers put on an absolute clinic to defeat Somerset 32-1. Allshores were completely relentless from the opening whistle, with Sheldon Bahasosingh delivering a masterclass in goal-shooting to finish with 19 goals. Micah Pond contributed five and MVP winner Zakiyah Durham added three in a display that showcased the Ballers' superior speed and ball movement, leaving Somerset with just a single consolation goal from Jeremiah.
