Kings College Taunton produced a dominant all-round display to dismantle Canford School, securing a comprehensive nine-wicket victory in their latest schoolboy cricket encounter.
After winning the toss and electing to field, Kings College justified the decision immediately with a disciplined bowling performance that never allowed the Canford batsmen to settle. While Felix Inglis provided a resilient anchor for the visitors with a well-made 62, wickets fell at regular intervals at the other end.
Jago Barclay was the standout performer with the ball, finishing with impressive figures of 3-32 from his nine overs. He was ably supported by Bermudian international Luke Horan, who applied significant pressure during his spell, returning clinical figures of 1-13 from four overs as Canford were eventually bundled out for 159.
The chase proved to be a straightforward affair for the Kings College top order. Thomas Rew spearheaded the reply with an authoritative unbeaten 87, punishing anything loose as the hosts raced toward the target.
