A clinical under-par round from Bermudian standout Dylan Muso has propelled McDaniel College to the top of the team standings at the Centennial Conference Men's Golf Championships.
On a day where the pressure of championship golf began to tell on the chasing pack, the Green Terror produced a collective masterclass at the Waynesboro Country Club to move to six-under-par with just 18 holes remaining.
Starting the day in third place, McDaniel utilized the "moving day" second round to leapfrog their rivals. The surge was spearheaded by a disciplined performance from Muso, who bounced back from an opening 73 with a composed one-under-par 71.
The Bermudian’s scorecard was a picture of consistency, featuring 13 pars and three crucial birdies. Despite two bogeys on the back nine, his ability to navigate the tricky Pennsylvania greens has moved him into a tie for fifth place on the individual leaderboard at two-over-par for the tournament.
McDaniel’s team total of six-under-par gives them a significant cushion as they look to secure the conference title and an automatic berth in the NCAA Division III Championships.
The battle for individual honors remains equally tight, with Muso now firmly in the mix for a podium finish. His second-round 71 was one of the few sub-par rounds of the day, proving that his game is peaking at exactly the right moment.
Muso and his teammates will head into Sunday’s final round as the marked men of the tournament. For Muso, who has already tasted success on the regional circuit this spring, the goal will be to maintain the steady rhythm that has seen him climb six places on the leaderboard in just 24 hours.
With 18 holes to go, the Green Terror are now the firm favorites to lift the trophy, but with narrow fairways and fast greens awaiting them, the final day in Waynesboro promises plenty of drama.
