Golfer Sienna Mosquera signed off on an impressive debut collegiate season as Lehigh University battled to a third-place finish at the Patriot League Championship.
Competing at the demanding Naval Academy Golf Club, the Mountain Hawks maintained a steady rhythm across three days of competition. A final-round team score of 314 saw Lehigh conclude the tournament with a 937 total (311-312-314), securing a podium spot in the five-team field.
For Mosquera, the championship was a showcase of mental fortitude. The first-year standout demonstrated a rare consistency, improving her score by a single stroke in every round. She eventually finished in 22nd place individually, carding a 27-over-par total of 243.
Mosquera’s opening round of 82 was a steady affair, featuring nine pars, but a late double bogey prevented a lower score. On day two, she found her first birdie of the tournament alongside 11 pars, though four costly double bogeys resulted in an 81.
The final round proved to be her most disciplined. Navigating the heavy winds often found in Annapolis, Mosquera racked up a tournament-high 12 pars. Despite a difficult triple bogey on her scorecard, her final-round 80 was her best of the week, cementing her position in the middle of the pack.
The third-place finish provides a solid foundation for a young Lehigh squad that has leaned heavily on its freshman talent this spring. For Mosquera, the steady improvement throughout the championship marks a successful transition into the Division I ranks.
As the Mountain Hawks wrap up their 2025-26 campaign, the focus now shifts to the summer circuit, where Mosquera is expected to return to Bermudian shores to continue her development before returning to Pennsylvania for her sophomore year.
