Youth Cricket Committee Not Standing Around

IslandStats.com
The Bermuda Cricket Board (BCB) Youth Committee kicked off their early preparation Training Sessions for young cricketers — and what an energetic start it has been!

The first session on Sunday, March 14th, brought together 23 enthusiastic players from the 11–14 age group, and the Youth Committee are delighted to share that 50 players have registered so far. The excitement on the field was matched by the presence of BCB Vice President David Horan who heads up the Youth Committee & BCB High Performance Consultant Andre Coley, who attended to observe the growing talent within our youth program.

For 15–18-year-olds, the Committee are actively reaching out and inviting players back into the game. After a few seasons with limited opportunities, this is an important moment to rebuild, reconnect, and reignite the love of cricket within this age group — and the BCB Youth Committee is fully committed to making that happen.

Registration remains open, and the Youth Committee warmly encourages all interested players to join!

If you attended last Sunday’s session but haven’t registered yet, please complete the form: BCB Early Preparation Youth Cricket Training – Fill out form Players may also register on-site. Boys and girls comfortable playing with a hard ball are welcome.

What’s Happening This Sunday — March 22, 2026

11–14 Year Olds

Group 1 – 25 Over Match @ Saltus School Field

1:30 PM – 5:00 PM Up to 26 players will be selected for this week’s match. Please bring full protective gear (helmet, pads, gloves, thigh pad, abdo guard (box), and your bat). A limited amount of gear will be available for new players.

Important:

No spikes on the wicket

Wear cricket rubbers or trainers

Group 2 – Training Session @ Saltus

1:30 PM – 3:00 PM Players not selected for the match will join coaches in the nets. This allows the Youth Committee to understand each player’s level and ensure everyone is placed in a safe and appropriate training or match environment.

All players should arrive by 1:00 PM to check in, get organized, and allow coaches to finalize match and training groups. Please wear cricket whites if available, bring water, a hat, and sunscreen.

Parents — bring your chairs and pop-up tents! We invite you to line the boundary and enjoy an afternoon of youth cricket in action.

Looking ahead, the Youth Committee plans to run two matches each play date, grouping players by their development level so everyone gets quality playing time.

15–18 Year Olds – Training @ Warwick Academy

2:30 PM – 4:00 PM (Arrive by 2:15 PM to check in)

This will be a hardball training session. Players should bring protective equipment and a bat. Limited gear will be available for those who need it.

Reminder:

No spikes — cricket rubbers or trainers only

The Youth Committee strongly encourages players in this age group to register and take part. Once numbers and skill levels are confirmed, match play will be introduced.

Following the Easter break, the Youth Committee's next gathering will take place on Sunday, April 12th, 2026. A reminder will be sent closer to the date.

The BCB Youth Committee is excited to launch match play this Sunday and continue building momentum for all age groups.

Thank you for your support — they cannot wait to see our young athletes on the field!

See you at the grounds!
