Spare Change Retain Top Spot as Title Chasers Fight Back

IslandStats.com
League leaders Spare Change extended their dominance at the summit of the Mixed Majors Bowling League this week, securing a commanding victory over Movers "N" Shakers at the Warwick Bowl.

In a night of high-scoring action that shook the middle of the table, the pacesetters proved exactly why they remain the team to beat. Facing an eighth-placed Movers "N" Shakers side desperate for points, Spare Change clinical precision was on full display as they cruised to a 15–5 victory. The result maintains their cushion at the top, though their closest rivals refuse to let the gap widen.

Second-placed Fight Back kept the title race alive with the most dominant performance of the evening. Squaring off against Mix Ups, the championship hopefuls were in relentless form, dismantling their sixth-place opponents in a 17–3 rout. The lopsided scoreline sends a clear message to the leaders that any slip-up in the coming weeks will be ruthlessly exploited.

The night was equally productive for Unpredictable, who solidified their grip on third place. In a clash with fifth-placed Warriors, the gap in quality was evident from the opening frames. Unpredictable matched the night's biggest win margin with a 17–3 thumping, leaving the Warriors searching for answers as they slide further away from the podium spots.

The biggest shock of the round came further down the standings, where the seventh-placed Activators produced a gritty performance to topple fourth-placed Thunderbolts. Despite the disparity in league positions, the Activators found their rhythm early and never looked back, securing a vital 13–7 win.

For the Thunderbolts, the defeat represents a significant missed opportunity to climb the ladder, while the Activators will hope this result sparks a late-season surge toward the top half of the table. As the league enters its final stages, the battle at both ends of the standings continues to provide the kind of unpredictability that has defined the 2026 campaign.
