Bermuda’s junior volleyball stars have concluded an intensive and taxing campaign at the prestigious Nike Boston National Qualifiers, departing the expansive Boston Convention and Exhibition Center with a series of hard-earned placements against elite North American opposition. In a tournament defined by shifting momentum and high-pressure tie-breakers, the island's representatives demonstrated significant resilience across multiple age divisions.
The Paradise Hitters 15 emerged with the most distinguished record of the Bermudian contingent, securing a fifth-place finish in their division. Despite their strong run through the earlier rounds, their tournament ended with a challenging 2–0 defeat at the hands of Prodigy 15.3 Elite. The Hitters struggled to find their rhythm against the Elite's clinical attack, falling 25–16 and 25–18 in their final outing of the weekend.
In the 13-and-under bracket, the Paradise Hitters 13 also claimed a respectable top-ten standing, finishing seventh overall in their division. Their final match proved to be a nail-biting affair, particularly in a marathon first set that saw them narrowly edged out 27–25 by Sideout 13T JT. The momentum stayed with their opponents in the second set, as the Hitters went down 25–17 to close out their Boston journey.
The Big Wave Riders 15 matched that seventh-place divisional finish, concluding their campaign with a balanced 10–10 record. The squad showed immense character on the final day, securing back-to-back 2–1 comeback victories. They first overcame a set deficit to defeat Digs Boys 15 Red, clinching a tense tie-breaker 17–15, before repeating the feat against Sportime 15 with a 15–11 victory in the deciding frame.
It was a more difficult road for the Big Wave Riders 16, who finished 30th in their division after a heartbreaking final match. The Wave appeared to be in total control early on against Husky 16.2, taking the opening set 25–16. However, they were unable to maintain their clinical edge as the match progressed, eventually falling 25–20 and 15–10 in the subsequent sets to end a grueling week of competition.
