Bermuda’s elite collegiate swimmers continued their record-breaking form on Day Three of the 2026 Ontario University Championships, with both Elijah Daley and Isabella Howes producing standout performances on the regional stage.
Elijah Daley, representing the University of Toronto, provided the highlight of the day in the Men’s 200 SC Meter Butterfly. After signaling his intent in the preliminaries by clocking the fastest qualifying time of 2:00.46, the freshman found another gear in the showpiece final. Daley touched the wall in a blistering 1:59.41 to secure a fifth-place finish in a high-caliber field. While the time was just a fraction shy of his own national record of 1:59.14, it marked another landmark performance as he became the first Bermudian to consistently threaten the two-minute barrier in the event.
Isabella Howes also enjoyed a successful evening for Western University, returning to the pool for the Women’s 400 SC Meter Freestyle. Competing in the B Final, Howes delivered a disciplined tactical race to finish in second place with a time of 4:25.34. The result earned her 10th place overall in the province and capped off a consistent weekend for the Western standout, who has played a vital role in her team's pursuit of a podium finish in the overall standings.
