Elijah Daley’s relentless assault on the Bermuda short course records reached new heights on Day Two of the 2026 Ontario University Championships.
Representing the University of Toronto, the freshman followed up his record-breaking opening day by taking on the Men's 200 SC Meter Individual Medley, an event where he had already made history the previous year.
Having shattered Stephen Fahy’s quarter-century-old record of 2:01.85 last season with a time of 2:00.87, Daley signaled his intent early in the session. He comfortably navigated the preliminaries, clocking 2:01.04 to finish second and secure a prime lane for the A Final.
In a high-intensity A Final, Daley produced a landmark performance, becoming the first Bermudian to dip under the two-minute mark in the event. He touched the wall in 1:59.80 to claim the silver medal, once again rewriting the national record books and cementing his status as one of the region's premier versatile talents.
Elsewhere in the pool, Isabella Howes enjoyed a successful outing for Western University at the 2026 Ontario University Championships.
Competing in the Women's 200 SC Meter Freestyle, Howes battled through a competitive preliminary field to finish seventh in 2:04.57, earning her a spot in the championship final.
She maintained her consistency in the evening session, touching the wall in seventh place with a new personal best time of 2:03.95 to round off a strong day for the Bermudian contingent in Ontario.
