Bentley University senior Taylor White produced a dominant display of distance swimming to claim gold in the 1000-yard Freestyle on the opening night of the Northeast-10 Women's Swimming and Diving Championships.
Competing at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, the Bermudian standout upgraded her Bronze Medal from last year with a clinical performance that saw her touch the wall in 10:32.14. White’s pace was relentless, ultimately securing the title by a staggering margin of more than five seconds over her nearest rival.
The senior's Golden start set the tone for a successful evening for the Falcons. White quickly returned to the pool to spearhead the 800-yard Freestyle Relay team, swimming a sharp leadoff leg to put Bentley in early contention. She was followed by teammates Grace Motisi, Skyla Lang, and Fotini Anastasiadou, who combined to clock an overall time of 7:47.95. While the quartet delivered a strong performance to secure the silver medal, they were narrowly beaten to the top of the podium by a powerful Southern Connecticut squad.
Southern Connecticut State University currently leads the team standings with 127 points after a series of high-scoring results across the first session. Bentley sits closely behind in second place with 104 points, positioning themselves as the primary challengers as the four-day meet progresses. With individual and relay medals already in the bag, White’s leadership remains central to Bentley’s pursuit of the conference title.
