The title race in the Mixed Majors Bowling League took a dramatic turn at Warwick Lanes this week, as the league’s top two heavyweights collided in a decisive encounter that saw the leaderboard significantly reshaped.
In a clinical display of precision and composure, league leaders Spare Change delivered a statement performance, crushing second-place Fight Back 16.5–3.5. The result sees the leaders extend their cushion at the summit, leaving the chasing pack with a mountain to climb as the season reaches its business end.
The drama wasn't confined to the top of the table. Unpredictable, who started the night in third, suffered a setback in their pursuit of the leaders. They fell 13–7 to a revitalized Thunderbolts side.
The victory for fourth-place Thunderbolts closes the gap on the top three and keeps their slim championship hopes alive, while Unpredictable will be left to rue missed opportunities in the final frames.
Further down the lanes, the battle for mid-table supremacy remained fierce:
Fifth place Warriors maintained their steady form with a dominant 15–5 victory over seventh-place Activators. Mix Ups, who are currently in sixth place produced one of the most one-sided scores of the evening, dismantling eighth-place Movers "N" Shakers 17–3.
