Myeisha Sharrieff and her Howard University women’s swimming and diving teammates delivered a clinical performance to close out their regular season, overwhelming Catholic University of America at the Burr Gym Pool. The Bison showcased their superior depth and speed throughout the afternoon, securing a resounding 223-47 victory over their crosstown rivals.
The Bermudian standout made a significant impact in her sole individual appearance of the meet. Competing in the women’s 50-yard Backstroke, Sharrieff dominated the field to touch the wall first in a sharp time of 27.78 seconds. Her victory was part of a broader sweep for Howard, which saw the team win nearly every event on the program during the Senior Day celebrations.
The win provides a massive momentum boost for the Bison as they transition into postseason competition. Following this dominant home display, the team will travel to Geneva, Ohio, for the Northeast Conference (NEC) Championships, scheduled to take place from February 17th - 20th.
